Position Summary:
The role will lead the Make/Shift Creative People and Places, Arts Council England (ACE), funded project team. The project will develop a programme of cultural activity in Amber Valley, Derbyshire. Our long-term vision and three-year plan is to support communities to shape arts and cultural provision and encourage participation in excellent art and culture. Our consortium structure and approach models collaboration between Higher Education, communities, arts and the voluntary sector. We want to support new and different approaches to genuinely engage people in shaping provision, working with a variety of partners to address themes of importance in our area – wellbeing, nature and recovery.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure that delivery of the business plan aims, and objectives supports project development and connects to the wider environment, including communities in the Amber Valley, University of Derby and other stakeholders.
- Lead the Make/Shift Creative People and Places Arts Council Funded Project, reporting to, and working closely with, the lead consortium partner and UoD and establishing close working relationships with the wider consortium members and delivery partners.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Make/ Shift Creative People and Places business plan.
- Proactively deploy the team’s resources to provide support to internal meetings/committees/working groups, and wider operational support for the Consortium
- Implement the business plan and ensure regular reporting to ensuring the impact and evaluation of Make/Shift is carried out effectively and efficiently. This is to include information gathering and data analysis/visualisation for Arts Council England (ACE) reporting and to the Consortium.
Requirements & Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills
- A good knowledge of professional practice and processes, for individual practitioners and companies, including company set-up, governance, legal, professional affiliations, finances and digital marketing
- Excellent organisation skills
- Knowledge and ability to work with the arts and culture sector especially in a community context
- Ability to carry out risk assessments and manage production schedules
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience of nurturing and supporting the development of artists
- Experience of Budget Management
- Significant experience within arts and culture arena within the UK
- Experience of programming creative arts projects
